2023- Present: Part-Time Faculty - California Institute of the Arts

  • Teaching History of Animation

2014- Present: Video/Digital Media Specialist

  • Provide video production services, including but not limited to pre-production planning, on-set shooting, technical directing, and post-production

  • Ability to source out professional talent and assistance based on client needs

  • Select clients: Sanrio, National Geographic, Craftsy 

2021- 2023: AICAD Fellowship - Art Center College of Art and Design Faculty 

  • Placed fellow to help contribute to the goal of increasing racial and ethnic diversity of faculty that recognizes values of diversity to excellence

  • Full-time course load, teaching a total of six terms

  • Taught both humanities and studio courses dealing with media archaeology, basic mechanics/automata, video production, and experimental animation  

2021: Post-Graduate Teaching Fellowship - California Institute of the Arts  

  • Designed and taught a self-designed course in Automata history and mechanisms 

2019- 2020: Teaching Assistant - California Institute of the Arts 

  • Provided graduate-level teaching assistance for three courses:

    • ‘Voyeurism in Animation’ taught by guest artist Sophie Koko Gate,

    • ‘Almost Real’ by Niki Lindroth von Bahr

    • ‘Object Animation Workshop’ by Kyungwon Song 

2019- 2020: Archiving Assistant - Janie Geiser  

  • Assisted Visual Theater Artist and Experimental Filmmaker Janie Geiser in archiving her physical works, puppets, sets, and other ephemera before shipping to archival houses

  • Collected and logged pertinent data and information for each object and other relevant information   

2019: Instructor - CalArts Community Arts Partnership   

  • A co-curricular program provided by CalArts, offering free after-school and school-based arts programs for youth ages 4-18 in every discipline

  • Co-instructed beginner’s photography courses    

2013: Cinematography Intern - Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, HBO   

  • Placed intern in the cinematography department for HBO

  • Learned how to navigate the departmental duties under the supervision of Michael Weaver ASC 


Residencies  

2024: Artist in Residency - Factory on Willow, Manchester NH

  • Created a body of new works inspired by the historical New England mills

  • Conducted a free community animation workshop

2021: Artist in Residency - Camera Obscura Art Lab, Santa Monica CA

  • Selected to participate in the Camera Obscura Art Lab Residency program

  • Created a series of four new sculptures inspired by the location and space

  • Offered free artist workshops sponsored by the Santa Monica Cultural Affairs 

2020: Artist in Residency - Automata Residency Project, Los Angeles CA  

  • Experimented and organized an online exhibition of ‘Automated’ Installation

  • Made possible with generous support from The Jim Henson Foundation and the Los Angeles Arts Covid-19 Relief Fund, funded by the J. Paul Getty Trust in partnership with California Community Foundation

Relevant Extracurricular    

2018- 2019: Garden Art Fair for Underrepresented Voices- California Institute of the Arts   

  • Responsible for helping plan, coordinate, and set-up the one-night art fair for two consecutive years

  • The annual art fair was created to celebrate the identities of students who are underrepresented in the animation industry, including lgtbqia, nonbinary, differently abled, transfolk and women identifying peoples 

2018: Toy Design Club - California Institute of the Arts   

  • Bi-Weekly club, co-Founded with Emily Martinez

  • Held workshops + field trips as a way of creating community for those who had interest in independent toy design and various production processes
