Manufactured

MANUFACTURED (2018)

'Manufactured’ presents a distillation of early cinematic principles and its intersection with early innovations pertinent to the Industrial Revolution through an assemblage of separate devices to showcase each principle. It is a hand crafted meditation on ideas of standardization, mass production, and waste. By presenting each element as sculptural forms, the piece rejects the manufactured forms of how cinema is largely presented in the mainstream as projected scenes on a silverscreen, and treats light and the image as the non-tangible product that continually cycles, transforming depending upon how the viewer moves around the installation.

Below is a catalog of the devices created for the installation.
