Automated (2020)

‘Automated’ presents the juxtaposition of optical phenomena and the urban experience by exploring the cyclical relationships of daily life and ubiquitous systems through the lens of mechanical processes and cinematic principles. Constructed with wood, 3D printed elements and motorized with DC motors, the sculptural elements depict the interplay of shifting lights and shadows in relationship to the animated cycles existing within the installation landscape.

Viewers will find numerous ways to experience Automated by peering into windows and buildings, watching the cinematic cycles embedded in each sculpture, and making secret discoveries of light and shadow.
